The lizard is finally gone. It's a good thing that the windows were closed and we don't have any neighbors really close to us, otherwise, they probably would have called the police thinking someone was being killed. As much as I hate to be that girl, I really really really don't like reptiles or insects. When they get close and I'm trying to get rid of them, I have a tendency to release my fear and disgust by screaming/yelling.
Luna is the one that originally caught the lizard, but since I wanted to get it out of the house, when she dropped it at one point, I was ready with the broom to try to sweep it down the hallway and out the front door. Unfortunately, I channeled my inner (bad) hockey player and took a big shot and sent it careening down the hallway ... and down the step into the carpeted living room. *sigh* It scurried under the other tv cabinet, of course and it took a while to get it out from under there. I just couldn't bring myself to pick the thing up, so I was trying to use the broom once again to sweep it back up the step onto the wood floor, putting it right in front of the front door so I could easily sweep it out. Of course, Luna and Pippo were curious and concerned with my manic sweeping and yelling and in the process, Pippo backed up into the small CD holder and knocked it over, which sent the glass bowl sitting on top flying off on top of the CDs that dumped out.
I did eventually manage to get the thing out the door. After the nightmare of being hunted by two cats (and being caught by one), and then being swatted with a broom by a screaming crazy lady, I'm sure that lizard is never coming near the house again. I don't think Lola realizes that it's not still under the tv stand, though. She's still keeping her eye on the area.
