I am burning up inside...all these kids have gone astray
Today:
+Dan gave me a cold which I'm trying to stave off by boosting my immune system with vitamin C and Honey+Lemon echinacea drops and drinking green tea. I also took a Claratin which is making me feel really out of it. I keep staring at the tree outside my window and letting it blur in and out.
+Our couch is being delivered today after work. Here's hoping it actually fits up the stairs. Please, please, please.
+I'm reading Neil Postman's The Disappearance of Childhood. It seems especially relevant after watching an episode of My Super Sweet Sixteen over the weekend at Dan's mom's house. God, I'm glad I don't have cable.
+I'm looking forward to this weekend. Andrea and Anne will both be in town, and I get to have some mother-daughter time on saturday. The last time we hung out just the two of us was when I was up for a gyno appointment back in March. My mom works all the time so I never get to see her for more than a few hours, and I worry about her a lot. Hopefully I can provide her with some relaxing fun over the weekend. BBQ and paid holiday on Monday!
+I saw Barbarella last night for the first time and it was pretty amazing in that bad sci-fi b-movie kind of way. I actually recommend it, although if you're anything like me the feminist in you will feel alotta guilty. Barbarella (young Jane Fonda) is very campy sexy which I like, but the amount of times she falls down, gets hurt, and sighs heavily is totally ridiculous.
