Here is the newest member of my flock (courtesy of Joe's iPhone):
He's ten weeks old, and settling in well (considering he's only been with us for about 36 hours). He's eaten some seeds, which is a relief and suggests he's feeling a bit more comfortable. He's also given us some lovely chiruups! :)
(Better pictures will follow once he's more settled - unfortunately you can't see just how brilliantly violet he is!)
Still early days yet, but the taming process has now begun. I've nearly forgotten how skittish budgies are when they're new/young as Ada is so ridiculously tame.
Ada is doing okay. She's getting plenty of people time, but doesn't understand why she's in a different part of the house. She's heard Hobbes making noise and Hobbes has heard her. They are looking for each other, but they're not going to meet just yet. The quarantine period will give enough time for Hobbes and us humans to get to know each other and to ensure that he's healthy before he and Ada are properly introduced.
