How do you keep informed about new music, movies, etc? well, as far as new music is concerned i generally try to buy records at shows that seem worth listening to especially if they're in the vein of, or seem influenced by all the bands I love. Movies...eh I barely go to movies though I do watch the independant film channel.
You just opened your own music venue. Describe it (i.e. size, location, any other details): Oh i like this question =). for a long time I've aspired to open a record store/venue type place. If I were to do it, locationally I'd love to have it either on the West Coast South Bay area or in Providence Rhode Island around the Wickendon Street Art Gallery Area. Whenever I envision doing this, I sort of think of things I've read about the Discord House Era in DC, someplace relaxed and youth oriented where people could get together, make music and buy records.
If you could book any band/artist for opening night, who would it be? This is really hard. I think I would book Embrace.
Do you play any instruments? Piano and a teeny bit of guitar.
If you could play any instrument, what would it be? viola.
Are you in a band? If so, who are your influences? I wish.

If I were to do a band, if I had my way, i'd love to sound jangly like tiger trap or the softies, but with a definite late black flag creative influence.
What would be your ideal job?
Where's your favorite place(s) to shop? Depends what for I suppose. I like independant bookstores and Indian owned stores where I can buy all sorts of neat beads....
Any hobbies? I was a dancer with a ballet academy for 13 years, I stopped dancing about a year and a half ago so since then I have been enjoooying such things as record collecting, writing, painting a little, and learning about Krshna Consciousness and a little bit of meditation.

My Bloody Valentine: Last summer before moving away, I made myself a tape from records that I couldn't fit in moving, and My Bloody Valentine's song "Never Say Goodbye" was the last track on the tape. While I was packing my things to move back home after living in Providence I rewinded the tape at least 10 times and only listened to that song. I don't really like the band that much, but I like that song.
Husker Du: Bob Mould's voice gives me chilly willys. 'nuff said.
