Break Up Repair Kit

...for those of you mending a broken heart.

First things first. You need a roll of duct tape. Because, well, duct tape fixes everything.
Even a broken heart.

Now that we've got the means to fix you up if you're falling apart, let's try to keep you from falling apart, all right, baby?

You're going to need to surround yourself with good people. Yes, yes, there is the time to be alone, but not yet. You need to call on someone who you trust, love, and know will bring a smile to that sad face of yours.
Warn them: "I'm probably going to cry." And let them just listen to you. You probably aren't sure what words you want to hear right now, so it's best for said friend to listen and be your shoulder.

Now that you've talked your heart out, grab a movie. A feel-good movie that will remind you of life before a broken heart.
A good recommendation is a movie you love that will not remind you of the heart breaker.
[A fun choice for gals is Now & Then, especially if you've called over a long time friend!]

You've got your best friend and your flick--but don't hunker down too soon. Grab some champagne truffles and a few of your other favourite snacks. diets don't matter when you're curing a broken heart. Accept that. Splurge. One of the best ways to cure a broken heart is through the tummy.
;)!

Now settle in, cuddle up, and enjoy NOT thinking about that futz.

****

As we all know, you can't keep your friend glued to your side forever.
So what do you do when they are away?

Grab some tunes. Opening stages of breakupdom often require some "emo" tunes to open the flood gates and get it all out. Throw on some Dashboard Confessional and you'll be crying for weeks. A mix tape works best for some. I know it works best for me. :] Listen to some of your favourite songs and let their lyrics heal your wounds.

When you're feeling a little better, treat yourself out. Take a day for yourself and be a Star! Go shopping and get yourself something nice. [Maybe something sexy to impress the next fine body you come across? ;)] Diva yourself if you're into it: get a haircut, get your nails done. Whatever you're into that makes YOU feel better.

And when you're finally ready to start emerging back into the world, don't be afraid to go to the gym! I know there's still aggression in you. Let it out! Run that Eliptical! Lift those weights! Cycle your hardest! If you're going to burn some energy and feel better about doing it, get to it, Skippy! You'll be feeling great and looking better. ;) Especially after splurging on those snacks, haha.

And finally, don't be afraid to get back out in the world! Dinners, dancing, dog parks, whatever! Take your friends with you on an excursion. Get out and surround yourself with people that will make you smile. You're probably ready to start enjoying your life again. Or at least.. starting to.

Other Handy Items to Include in Your Repair Kit:
..band-aids [because they can heal a broken heart too!]
