On day 19 I introduced the Party Bus

Jan 19, 2009 22:10

So, I LOVE my gram.
My gram dislikes being the center of attention.
I think it's fair to say that if a party is held in her honor, she will hunt down those responsible.
She's turning 80, August 25th.
I Turn 20, August 30th.
We're turning 100.

So naturally We (my aunt)newgrange , and my mom are working on laying out plans to celebrate my Gram's birthday this year.  I can talk my gram into anything. I feel safe saying this, since i talked her into going to see In Bruges with me. (she now refers to it as that movie with that horrible language).  I'm not the only one who knows this either, pretty much everyone in the family knows.

Tonight my mom and gram drove me back to school. On the way down i dropped the beginnings of my plot. I told her I wanted a party bus for our Birthday.   After she stopped laughing and suggesting that I should save the money for school she asked me what we would do on a party bus.
So I began to weave my tragic Party Bus Plans.

Gram: What are we going to do on a party bus?
Me: Trapse through town, like ladies of the night.
Gram: We're going to be doing this alone?
Me: We'll see how the night goes.
Mom: You know me and Uncle E, turn 100 together  this year too.
Me: Yeah, but no one cares about the two of you.
Mom:  We'll aren't the dynamic Duo that you two are.

A little later at a Dukin Donuts Drive thru
Gram: (looking at trees covered in a multi-color Christmas light  shrub net)  Those are really pretty trees
Mom: Yeah they are.
Me: Those lights would look awesome in the party bus!
Gram: Where would those go in a bus?
Me: Across the ceiling.
Gram: Oh
Me:I think.. that they will be.. AWESOME. ..sprinkles please.

At this point I should probably mention that I didn't tell my mom my plan of action until i started blurting out  things about the party bus.  When we got to the dorm  my mom and I talked about it, and how maybe it was a bit over.  That is exactly my point of attack.  After the party bus the ideas will just become worse, until the basic idea of a party seems completely and utterly trivial and doable.... or we give up and lie to her and I'll continue on with my random party bus commentary.
Apparently they talked about the party bus on the way home, and how excited I am about us turning 100.
I'm not usually a big party or event person but, I'm pretty excited about this, in fact  I'm fairly psyched.

big 100, birthday, the fam
