Sorry to rain on your parade, but circumstances mean a whole lot--

Saying that "it's your choice what you make of them" is like saying a homeless person is homeless because he is lazy. That is total bullshit for the most part. People that are well off have more opportunity because of this 'circumstance'; and that can not be refuted.

Humanity is poised on circumstance- it may seem that the world is everyone's unique oyster in college, but afterwards, circumstance begins to matter and begin to be taken into account.

Now, politically, we are of what we believe to be a "democratic" nation where everyone has equal opportunity, but as you know we don't live in anywhere close to an egalitarian society, and everyone DOES NOT have an equal opportunity. e neePeople are not perfect (maybe with the exception of you, hehe) and thereford a scapegoat. Circumstance may not be the actual reason for blame, but it's as good as any.

I got a B+ in Chem too..c'est la vie.

I see what you're saying, but I must say that circumstances are most often just a scapegoat for what's actually wrong. I've had wayy too many people tell me that they're throwing in the towel - about a class, school, whatever. They feel like there's not a single damn thing they can do to fix their problems, without realizing that they're the only ones who can. I can't stand for someone to completely give up and blame it on circumstance. How about "I didn't do ____. Maybe then I wouldn't be in this predicament ( ... )
