... Sleeper..., 1973 (dvd) A light, very funny Woody Allen film. Physical comedy that made me laugh several times hehehe 3/5
...White Men Can't Jump... (tv broadcast) I've *always* liked Woody Harrelson, and his role in here was a good platform for his film career to grow. 3/5
...Scary Movie 4... Not so scary, with the expected spoofs from recent films. 2/5
...Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe..., 1988 (dvd) This BBC release was fair, the story was good in all 3, but Disney's deep pockets and the industry's advancement of special f/x make the newer release (and yet-to-be released) superior to this BBC tv program. Technical aspects such as repeatedly have incorrect image/scene exposures --- there were numerous ones that were over-exposed--- left me with a feeling of amateurism abounded here. 3/5
...Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian and the Voyage of the Dawn Treader..., 1989 (dvd) 3/5
...Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair..., 1990 (dvd) 3/5
...The Sentinel... A story about how the FBI is infiltrated by a traitor with a deadly plot on the president. Interesting details in regards to how that agency operates daily to protect the u.s. president. 2/5
...Akleeah and the Bee... A warm story, sponsored in part by Starbucks, where a girl has a natural ability to spell, and although there are potentially numerous stumbling blocks along the way, she finds it within herself, and her mentor/coach, to continue to strive for the goal to raeach the Nationals in the Spelling Bee. 5/5
...RV... Robin Williams. Comedy film. I don't need to say anything else. Even though this film wasn't great, ok, maybe just fair, he's undeniably funny. But, sadly the story was shallow, so 2/5
...United 93... Passengers on this doomed flight hear of the other 2 plane crashes and the possibility of hijackers being on their flight, so they take whatever measures they can to hopefully regain control of the plane, or possibly even just to avert a potentially worse disaster. Gripping. 3/5
...Aeon Flux... (dvd) GREAT film... better than the MTV weekly sunday night episodes... cuz some of those just didn't make sense in continuity from week to week. Set 400 years from now, Rebels attempt to assasinate a leader, but the assasin has previous life experiences of a personal nature with the leader, and suconsciously she's aware of it seeping into her current life. She tries to fight it, but after her sister is killed she gains a deeper understanding and sees who the real killer(s) is (are). She takes her newly discovered honesty and does the right thing with it. I can't wait for the sequel !!! 5/5
...Art School Confidential... Finally, a great story this year. A first-year college art student gains a deeper understanding of himself as he desires recognition for his artistic abilities. His ultimate goal is to be a world-known artist. Along the way he meets a girl in his class, but she goes for another dude. Things unfold between classmates/roommates/girls/people (I don't want to spoil anything here) and all the while an undiscovered serial killer is on the campus. Um, I don't know where to go from here... so just see this film. 5/5
...Water... This story unveils part of the culture in India that could be felt as disturbing. In a nation where arranged marriages are common, marriages of young girls to grown men is also condoned. A girl is in that situation, her husband dies, she becomes a widow. Widow are a sort a curse, bad luck. They're cast from society, like yesterdays paper. She is dropped off at a home for such widows, she's the only child there, and she is quite vocal of what she wants. She begins to understand her reality, but through her demeanor, she also brings others hope and even some laughter. 4/5
...Lord of the Flies... 1990 (dvd) A classic based upon the book, this tale about boys in a military school survive a plane wreck and make it to a deserted island. With only them to govern themselves, their society takes an interesting direction. 4/5
...Joe's Apartment... (dvd) Hilarious... hope you don't hate cockroaches (or, as we call them in Florida::: palmetto bugs). 3/5
...Anger Management... (dvd) Another comedy, Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson work as therapist/patient. Woody Harrelson makes an interesting appearance here. 3/5
...X-Men 3: The Last Stand... Yet another *great* series. Good characters and storyline with exciting special f/x... you just gotta see this one! 5/5
...House of D... (dvd) 1973 New York City. A warm story about a 13 year-old boy who has some unfortunate things happen to him in his youth. But he continues on, finding that strength in himself to go on. In the neighborhood he has people there who are able to dispense advice that usually (but not always) seemed to help. This film is all about relationships::: people and even the environment in which we're in. 4/5
...Nosferatu...1929 (dvd) An excellent film to study for compostion and photography. The lighting in each scene was diligently scrutinized, and the results are good, considering the limited film technology in the 1920's. The commentary is also beneficial to better understand the directing. Oh, yea, the movie is good too... it has creepy elements to it, and a good story line. 4/5
