Well after he had wrangled Mr. Wooster into his pyjamas and lent him to Morpheus’ care, Jeeves knelt before his bed. With a quiet shove on a leather valise, a neatly stacked pile of books came into view. Jeeves knew that other men might think this amount of secrecy was only for those works not fit for the eyes of the fairer sex however he felt it necessary nonetheless. Spinoza by day, Banks by night. Mr. Wooster always seemed so impressed with Jeeves’ literary preferences. A slight blush colored his cheeks. If Bertie only knew. Deciding to take a measure of his own medicine, Jeeves picked up Only a Factory Girl and began to read. It worked well enough for Bingo, after all. Perhaps another thumb through of this favorite would provide the required fortitude to be honest with his employer.
