Me tired.

Yesterday was pretty good. Long, but good.

My flights went pretty well. I had a phoenix layover of about an hour, which was just enough to allow me to get something to eat, but not enough to make me bored. I finished off the most recent Dresden novel over both flights, which was wonderful. The novels keep getting better, but not - it's weird, and not in a bad way. I can't recommend the series highly enough to those that like smart-ass fantasy. It's definitely well worth your time.

Upon stepping off the airplane in Seattle though, I received a phone call from work. Turns out in all my planning for work stuff while I was away, I overlooked something decently sized - not huge, but big enough that I feel fairly bad about it. Sadly, because of the time, there was really nothing to be done for it. But it's enough to make me feel like maybe there were other things I missed, that I should have done before I left, and looking back, I can think of at least 1 or 2. I called one of my co-workers today, and had them check on some stuff for me, but it's one of those things that just sits at the back of your mind and nags at you. I'm sure it'll go away though, either from exhaustion or from excitement.

I met up with Ariock almost immediately upon entering the airport - he was in another concourse, but while I was on the phone with work, we spotted each other, and made our ways to the baggage claim. We then got his rental car and headed off for Seattle.

We got to the hotel and went to check in. All I can say is the Sheraton is nice, and OMG convenient, but wow, I don't think we've had a single one of us (5 so far) check in without problems. Oh wait, jphotog's friend didn't check in, and thus didn't have problems. This is on top of the problems encountered on Monday when I called to confirm and put names on the reservations, only to find out they'd changed the room rate without telling me. Yeah, that went over well.

So after getting the billing sorta straightened out, Ariock and I headed out to get some food. We tried P.F. Changs first, but the wait time was exorbitant, so we did a little hole-in-the-wall mexican place instead. Good food, but spicy. After that we rode the Monorail! (Monorail, monorail, monorail, monorail....) and discovered the Experience Music Project and the Science Fiction Hall Of Fame And Museum, both of which I had no clue about, but now HAVE to find some time to see. If not this trip...

We headed back to the hotel to meet up with ikkarus01 and then jphotog, both of whom then got to experience the pleasures of checking into the Sheraton Seattle, one of which included obtaining a third, unwanted room, and the other not being able to check in at all, despite being the primary name on one of the rooms, and I having asked multiple desk peoples to make sure he wouldn't have any issues. So much for desk peoples. We got everyone situated though, and then proceeded to commence with the rest of the night.

The rest of the night consisted of Ariock, Ikkarus and I heading out to Chop Suey for Pop Night, which was headlined by Freezepop. It was a nice club, and the music was alright - the first DJ was the best, playing remixed new-wave, but then another took over playing hip-hop, which was only alright. The first act took the stage around 11:15 (2:!5 EST for those of you keeping track), and was alright - I think Ariock picked up a CD. Freezepop took the stage around 12:15, and did a good job of keeping the crowd entertained. I was reminded, though, of why I haven't picked up more of their music. It's alright, but most of their stuff just doesn't have the spark "Less Talk More Rokk" does (off the GHII soundtrack.)

Sadly, my eardrums have yet to forgive me for this outing. I'm kinda wondering if I didn't end up doing some decent permanent damage to them.

We got home, and headed off to bed, but that was not to be. I got a txt from Ariock asking if I could come down and fiddle with Monk's computer, to try and set up a wireless network for sharing internet, so we didn't have to keep buying it. I was successful, at least on Macs, and we all know those are really the only computers that count, right? ;)

We watched some bad late night news, which included Comedy Central and some AWFUL Bill O'Reilly wanna-be, and finally around 2:30 (5:30am EST) I finally wandered to bed.

Sadly, sleep was not all I was hoping, being both short and intermittent, so we'll see how I'm feeling the rest of the day. I have a feeling tonight might be an early night for me.
