Games update...

It's well less than a week before PAX. Hell, it's almost a week till I'll be leaving PAX... I'm sooooo looking forward to going, and seeing everyone (and those of you not going, you should totally come! Or plan on coming next year!) It's gonna be fabulous times, I know.

So another thing for the list of Games I've bought but will probably get to play maybe once or twice - TITAN. I played this game a few times in High School, and loved it - it's a giant strategy monster game. You build monster armies, and then duke it out with the other players (who have also built monster armies.) Sadly, it's a bit complicated, so I'm not sure when I'll get to break it out, but hopefully I can get at least a few of my friends to try it out.

But at least it's getting reprinted. It's a shame it's so hard to find - for the past few years, I'd scour EBay every so often looking for a copy, and they'd go for $100+ easily. I'm getting mine for ~$60 (shipping included), which is a steal. Sure, it's not an original copy, but as long as it plays the same... It's a shame Hasbro isn't reprinting more of Avalon Hill's games themselves. They have such a treasure trove, and they're completely squandering it.

So like thunderclap8, I also beat The Darkness this weekend. It was fun, interesting - the powers you get by the end make you WAY over powered, but it's really a lot of fun to just decimate a ton of bad guys at once by throwing a black hole their way. Sadly, some of the achievements were broken for me, so I missed on a bunch of achievement points I should have gotten. Ah well.

Once I was done with it, I took it to Gamestop and traded it in (I know, but I figure $25 is better than it sitting around in my house, and no one responded to my craigslist ad to sell it...) - Turns out that the $25 you get for it is just enough to put down a pre-order on the full version of Rock Band. So now I have that pre-ordered. I thought about pre-ordering Oblivion:GOTY or Orange Box, but I figure those will probably be easily enough picked up at any store, or my local Best Buy, etc. Besides, I'm still on the fence for Orange Box - I'll see how the reviews come in, who picks it up, if people actually play TF2, etc.

So I've got both the collectors edition of Halo3 and the Legendary edition on pre-order. After months of thinking, I think I'm going to end up going with the Collectors Edition. I just prefer a book to a few extra DVD's, especially since you know you'll be able to torrent those DVD's a day after it ships. So now I have to figure out if I just want to let my pre-order expire, or if I want to pick it up and try and sell it on EBay. If I can get $200 for it, I figure it's probably worth it. Any less, and I'm not really sure it's worth the trouble. Unless one of you fine folk out there want to take it off my hands (cost + shipping, obviously.)

titan, halo 3, the darkness, halo, board games, rock band, video games, pax
