As everyone knows, we have 'rules' regarding game activity, that are honestly pretty lax. We don't find we have to 'enforce' them a whole bunch, because we have a very awesome, talented and dedicated group of players, and we are all pretty much 'addicts'. *grin*
However, sometimes there are absences 'behind the scenes' and people may wonder if we are playing favourites or being especially 'lenient' with Person A vs Person B.
We try very hard to be very flexible. We all have 'real lives', and real life totally comes first! We don't want anyone to be fired from their jobs or have their own health suffer, or their families to be neglected, etc., over a *game*. When someone tells us what is going on - even if they want their personal-life stuff kept off the OoC board - we are going to go six ways from up to try and work with them so their character will be ready and waiting when they come back.
When someone vanishes without a trace and doesn't answer numerous emails - well, *then* it is time to give them the good-old-fashioned 'shape up or ship out' sort of warning.
So. On that note, most of the characters you might feel you are 'missing' at present, can be 'found' on this OoC board, sometimes 'friends locked', with a message of what is keeping them busy and when they will be ready to play again.
At this moment in time, our Ron Weasley, Ginny Weasley, and Lucius Malfoy players are having real-life personal issues that have disrupted play-time, in circumstances that make it impossible to guesstimate when they will come back. Because they are in communication with us, and we know they are absolutely eager to come back as soon as humanly possible, we are letting things slide a bit, and we are all just happily assuming those characters are doing their normal day-to-day schtuff.
Please be aware, as the 'public notice' portion of our rules, that as of today, our Daphne Greengrass and Millicent Morsus players have been given official notices of inactivity. If you know these two talented individuals, please ping them like crazy and tell them you don't want to lose them! *grin* We always try to include as many people as possible in our plotting stuff, and we had plans for both of these characters regarding stuff currently occurring on the board right now, so we're bummed.
At any rate, that is the difference between 'why is that person asked to leave and this person allowed to stay'. We never WANT to ask anyone to leave, but players who don't want to play any more are just 'dead weight'.
On that note, if the time ever comes where you are burned out, done with the game/fandom/one specific character/whatever - please just tell us rather than make us be the meanies!
Cheers!
