woe is me...

This will have to be a quick update, as my internet time at the moment is small. I am in Singapore! I made it even though Tiger Airways cancelled my ticket without warning causing me to repurchase a new one only 1 hour before the flight. I also had to mail most of my things from the airport which was quite costly and will take about 2 weeks to arrive. As soon as I got to Singapore Ritz and I went to the "Tiger Airways office" aka hole in the wall to demand a refund and explanation of why the ticket was cancelled. They were unable to do anything but fax someone my complaint and cross their fingers. Turns out Tiger Airways doesn't even have an OFFICE in Singapore, not even at the airport. This so called office was not even affiliated with the company, they were just booking agents. If you even try to call the customer service number you'll find it is disconnected! The booking agents sympathized with me and even told us about the high number of customers sueing the company for similar problems. Yikes. I am going to write a letter to the local newspaper and HOPE that I will get my refund. It is such a small amount of money, but for me it is very much needed. The school I was working for in Chiang Mai only paid me 75% of my monthly salary because they decided at the LAST minute they would "charge" me for leaving early. Jack knew I would be leaving on Tuesday night so he put off paying me until Monday after school. He led me to believe all month that I would get my full salary, but when the time came he pushed off the responsibility of keeping his word by making it sound like it wasn't his decision. Boo.

So other than that, things are going just swell! I've been working on my TESOL course quite diligently and hoping to get my teaching certification within a couple of months. We are advertising for Chinese students in the local papers as well as posting flyers on community bulletin boards. Our 2 live in students (Shogay and James) were able to translate our ads into Chinese. I'm on my way to teaching again!
