I am not a member of fatshionista and never have been, because I'm smack in the middle of 12/14 for pretty much everything except some tops (because my boobs are big and my shoulders are wide) so it's not really my place. But I went and read on the big post and I finally narrowed down what it is that was bugging me about all the 'oh, but you can go and post on inbetweenies/other comms' comments and the 'if you want it to be a more active community, MAKE IT ONE' responses is this-

They acknowledge that the community has grown significantly since it started, and it certainly seemed like many of the people going 'wait, WHAT?' are people who have been active in the community - so they're kicking people out[1] who have HELPED BUILD the community they want to enjoy. Not necessarily by moderating, but by increasing the traffic and making it a more appealing place to participate.

There's just something wrong with that.

It just makes me get the same sort of feeling as that person who invites you into a team project and then at the last minute says 'thanks, I'll take it from here' so they can reap all the benefits.

[1]- Technically, no one is kicked out, but why would you want to post to a community which is restricting your access to the function of the community? I mean, I just bought a pair of boots at Avenue which I assume, as it is a plus sized store, means I could legitimately post a review of them. But since I'm not fat enough to post ootds, I don't really feel like my opinion would be wanted anyway.
