In the immortal words of Mushu: "I LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE!"
It's even more funny now because I'm in the Mulan world in Kingdom Hearts II. Yay, good voice actors.
Sooo, went to Common Ground Fair. First day we went it poured. Unfortunately, we didn't bring umbrellas! So we got soaked through. Amazingly, we didn't get sick.
I found this really adorable hat there, but it fell out of my pocket somewhere along the way. T_T And I loved it so!
Second day I went with just my mother, as she had to sit at a booth promoting Hospice (which was right across from a food place that was playing Sarah McLachlan. That was interesting). I just wandered around by myself. I tried to find another of the cute hats, but they were sold out of every color except pink. BRIGHT pink. *sob* I'll have to wait until next year to replace it, I guess.
Also bought a bunch of Lisa Bess's jewelry (
http://www.lisabess.com/Store.htm). And a shirt with sharks on it, because I might as well broadcast my obsession with shark movies.
And they had the sheepdog demonstration again, which was adorable. Man, border collies are so cute. Too bad they're more energetic than a squirrel on crack...
And I had two pie cones the first day. This was good, because the next day they were sold out of the pumpkin.
So that was my day at the fair. Or days, really.
Onto other topics!
The new alto in the chorus is named Shana, and she's very nice (even though she keeps stealing my pencil to take notes, hehe). She also likes anime, whoo-hoo!
What else. Saw the House of Flying Daggers. I TOTALLY CALLED THE PLOT TWISTS. But anyway, I liked the first hour. Second hour, not so much. It was a good movie, if depressing. Seriously, can we have one Chinese epic movie where it ends happily? Ever?
And Avatar. Oh man. People who are saying it's just a kid show? THE LAST EPISODE TOTALLY PROVED YOU'RE WRONG. MAN. It was so perfectly creepy and cool. I LOVE THIS SERIES SO MUCH. I'm totally cosplaying Katarra someday. And possibly Tai-Lee too. Mmm, abundance of brunettes with long hair!
Ah, and most of my amazon order arrived for my birthday. I got
The Wolves in the Walls by Neil Gaiman & Dave McKean - Gods, this is pretty. Totally love it.
Sandman Volume 1 by Neil Gaiman - And now I know it is my destiny to get everything this man has ever written, because they are all worship-worthy.
Slayers Excellent - Yay, got to see how Lina and Naga were introduced. Also, it has interviews with Cynthia Martinez and Kelly Manison. HEEE.
Tales of the Brothers Grimm and the Sisters Weird by Vivian Vande Velde - BWAHAHA, this was great. Loved it.
The Muppet Show Season 1 - Haven't seen any yet. But yaaaaay.
Still have a few things that haven't arrived yet. I hope they arrive today. ^_^
I managed to catch the re-run of the Heroes pilot episode. FANTASTIC. Hiro is so adorable. I was dying of cuteness. I will definitely be watching this from now on.
And I saw Shark Attack 3 on sci-fi last week. You know, I thought it was going to be a fantastic movie. And it was, don't get me wrong. But it started out so perfectly. Then they went and pulled the old Beowulf plot. *sigh* Don't the writers know Jaws 3 already did that? But it was still the third best shark movie yet.
Aaaand some random phrases that I found amusing.
Chris, a classmate in Japanese: Wait, so 'hana' means flower?
Mio, my Japanese teacher: It's a double meaning. It can mean flower or nose.
John: 'Hanachi' means bloody nose.
Everyone: *stare, giggling*
John: I HAVE been to Japan.
Woman walking past me in a supermarket: Yeah, and I'm ordering a whole leather outfit.
Me: *continues walking* o.O
Oh, and the latest episode of Ouran High? OH MAN. I was SO SAD. The next (and last) episode had better have LOTS OF SAPPY HAPPINESS TO MAKE UP FOR IT, s'all I'm saying.
And I've made this entry long enough. Also, I keep opening paragraphs with 'and.' Bad Zumie!
