I did kind of leave you in the lurch, huh?
Yesterday, I got an offer from CareerBuilder.com. They're five minutes from my house, ranked 8th best company in chicagoland to work for. Young (early 20s) work force.
This morning was my second interview with ASAP. No offer yet, but I think that I did well in the interview. They'll get back to me by Wednesday with a no or an offer. I need to call them and tell them that I have another offer on the table so that they don't take their sweet time. They're the 19th best company to work for.
Last night I made a whole Excel comparison spreadsheet.... ahh, applying Excel to everyday life. So convenient.
CareerBuilder's selling points: more vibrant work environment, location, nationally recognized company, strong identification with future manager, my choice as to hours as long as are solid 8, business casual/dressed up work environment.
ASAP Software's selling points: more practical training (sales/account management/software licensing), international company, retention resistant, casual dress work environment.
Both have excellent benefits and company vacations. Both also have good potential for promotions and trying different aspects of the company.
So. I like them both. If ASAP doesn't make me an offer, I'll probably see what I can do at CareerBuilder.com. Otherwise, it'll come down to tough decision time.
Any opinions?
