I have been extremely neglectful of this platform - should have reported on Draco's last two agility competitions (one KC, one local - actually at the local horse carriage driving school), in neither of which he exactly covered himself in glory (but at least he didn't abscond).
Also we have bought a new car (another Skoda Fabia Estate - awaiting delivery as I write).
The cardi I was knitting stalled (I lost one of the front pieces - finally found it in the living room after several abortive searches of the bedroom) and I am doing another shawl/throw in crochet with some yarn I found in the wardrobe while having a clothes sort.
I failed to meet this month's deadline on a DD story (though I have an idea that will probably see the light of day eventually). Have also found the raw draft of a very old Professionals story which I have OCRed and am currently revising.
But today has been cooking.
We picked some blackberries while out walking the dogs on Fairlop Plain this morning and I found a recipe for a 'yoghurt mousse' which required a trip to the shops for cream and yoghurt (bit not gelatin or eggs). The result is currently in the fridge So much for free food!
Also we had two pork loin chops in the freezer intended for Cimorene's aborted visit that I decided to have today. Pork invariably ends up dry and tough, so I pan-fried it in butter to colour the meat, then oiled a deep baking tray, put the chops in it, added the juice of half an orange and some slices of apple, covered with foil and shoved in the oven at Gas 3 for 35 minutes - it came out lovely and moist - great with a light salad and a bottle of Pecorini.
