Boring catch up - dogs and baking

It's been an odd week.I've spent most of it doing a scratch edition of the cat club newsletter ready for this Saturday (just discovered that the template I intended to use will not print out as I want - cue much cursing and cutting and pasting to an unformatted document). Will probably spend tomorrow slaving over a hot printer.

Last weekend we went to the Discover Dogs event at Earls Court - Lil on Saturday, me on Sunday. It was great fun. Lots of rare-breed dogs you don't normally see, demonstrations of various doggy skills (my camera was not fast enough to catch the agility dogs, or Mary Rae's HTM demo - though I may be able to salvage a couple to post). And loads of sales stands - Draco now has three fluorescent balls to chase on dark evenings, and a new waterproof coat (in a fetching shade of fuschia), not to mention a lot of free food samples.

I have started baking again - with cheesy biscuits (we have had a 'club' trefoil pastry cutter in the drawer for ages, presumably from a set designed for making nibbled for bridge parties - but since neither of us play bridge )or give parties) I have no idea where it came from - but it's ideal for cheesy-nibble biscuits. This left me with a spare egg white, so tomorrow's project is almond macaroons. (Which meant, of course, going out to buy almonds and rice paper.)

Have laid all the whole tiles in the former-garage-utility-room-to-be. Now have to get a tile cutter to deal with all the half-tiles I need for round the edges.
