A sort of inconsequential catch up post.
The gas men seem to be satisfied that the leak is cured and have replaced our drive (in places better than the original contractors) and tarmaced in the hole - though we have to wait for it to settle before they take away the roadblock and we can move the car back.
Another electrician arrived this morning to look at all the stuff that needs doing - he seemed quite efficient - we'll wait for his quote this evening.
Draco just chewed the earpieces off my good varifocals - so I have to have that eye test that I've been putting off for the last few months.
I have failed miserably to find five songs that I like beginning with 'B' as allocated by
valydiarosada for the song meme. The only options seem to be songs beginning 'baby' or 'boogie' - not my thing. And the one that I might have used, Beautiful People an X-Men song from Phoenix's Dancing Flames tape is not available online (and I'm not at all sure where our tape is…) I will have to bow out on this one. One of the penalties of being more a spoken word person than a music one.
And speaking of Radio 4 I have enough problems with the BBC playing trailers for
The Song of Lunch on TV, without being ambushed by Unexpected Alan Rickman on Radio 4. There is only so much time in the day that can be spent listening in rapt concentration…
The Beeb is being particularly fanservicy at the moment - I am deeply amused by the
squee about Sherlock re-using props from Sarah Jane Adventures, thus making Holmes part of the Who-verse (not that anyone thought otherwise, did they?). Now we need Sarah Jane to have a copy of the Dynamics of an Asteroid on her shelves and we have a fully integrated set. The Beeb have always recycled props - I have fond memories of the Egyptian columns from The Cleopatras turning up in some quiz show back in the 80s, and Blakes Seven frequently used old Who stuff.
