I think my brother has started taking drugs again. Considering his illness, this is very very very very bad. I am suspicious because I am also a snoop. He went to get dinner and left his mobile phone at work. I guessed his pin code and looked through his messages where I found one asking his friend for pills. I guess that wouldn't be an off chance

Maybe you could tell your parents you overheard a suspicious conversation... or that you accidentally found some drugs in his room when you were looking for a pair of socks (or something that would make sense for you to be in there)??? I dunno.. whatever would make sense but wouldn't make you look like a snoop.

Everyone hates to be a rat, but this is for the safety of your family and for him. I would tell your parents regardless if you tell the whole truth or a little fib. I know it would hurt to fight with him, but its better that he's a little angry at you for a little while but he gets help.

I ended up telling my mum. She was upset but more than that she was really angry that he'd start doing that again. After all the shit that has happened she really thought that he'd be smarter, or at least be ridiculously shit scared to do it again.

The fact is I'm too chicken to say anything to him. Mum said she will, but she hasn't had a chance to get him alone because if my dad finds out he will lose it. Mums have the toughest jobs in the world.

Thanks for your advice. I agree that him being mad at me and getting help will end up being better than him having another episode and ending up God knows where.
