I'm going to admit that I was so excited after reading the Warrior Heir and since I couldn't get my hands on a copy of the other 2 books I turned to fanfiction instead. And I feel pretty good about myself for guessing that the Wizard Heir had /something/ to do with Linda and Leander. Their relationship had so many facets and although I haven't read the following 2 books it seems like their troubles and worries relevant to your fic. :) Simply lovely.

Well, on the surface it doesn't have too much to do with them. But underneath, yeah, it does. I read Wizard Heir first, so I missed a lot of the subtext the first time around. But coupled with Warrior Heir, there's a new dimension added. And so much makes sense, even though Linda doesn't come in until about halfway in, and the Revelation doesn't come until pretty close to the end. Unfortunately, Dragon Heir doesn't have half as much to do with Linda and Leander. It focuses primarily on two other characters who you meet in Wizard Heir, and, well, I didn't like it half as much as the other two.

Um, if you want to read the last two books and are having trouble finding them, I have them uploaded as eBooks and could send you the links.

...I ended up reading Warrior Heir twice and the second time around I felt like the side characters didn't nearly get enough attention as they should have (especially Leander and Linda with their tricky-not-so-secret-secret-relationship!). Good to know that they get to play a bigger part in Wizard Heir! Something to make up for Dragon Heir...sort of.

I was planning on going on a man hunt at my local library...but I would definitely take you up on your offer if it isn't too much to ask? Please and thank you so much if you could! :D

Oh, it's not a problem. Here is the folder with the books. I'm always glad to help people get a hold of these, since they're not that well known, and I consider that very unfortunate.

I think in Warrior Heir, since it's in Jack's POV, Linda and Leander don't play that much of a role in his mind. I mean, yes, they are important characters. But aside from a slight curiosity as to what's going on and how did they know each other, he doesn't care as much. Whereas in Wizard Heir, Seph is direcly involved and therefore is dying to know what's going on. Jack has always has a family, so he's more worried about how the whole Warrior thing is going to affect him personally, and his "normal life", while Seph is more into the movement itself. Well, sort of. You'll see. *grins* I don't want to spoil too much for you, but ( ... )

Seph in Wizard Heir is sort of portrayed as a rebel, at first. He's an orphan who desperately wants his family, and knows that he's been lied to, but no one will tell him anything. He hangs out at clubs even though he's underaged, in the beginning, kind of has this bad boy vibe going on. And then he ends up at the Havens, which. well. I don't want to spoil everything. But it is NOT good that he is there. That kind of changes him, makes him more careful, more wary. And then he's suddenly meeting up with Linda, who outright lies to him (he doesn't know how or anything, he can just sense it), and that puts him on edge. So he makes finding the Dragon and his family his mission, and then he turns to protecting the Weir too. So yes, he is very like Leander, in my opinion. His family means everything to him, on one hand, because he never knew them. On the other, he's seventeen when he first meets them, so there's a bit of uncertainty there too. And because of this, in a way, he gives the Underguilds' cause his all. Like Lee. ( ... )

I've skimmed through Wizard Heir and it seems like Seph is always in a play for power or information. He's asking Genevieve about his past, he's being suppressed with Weirbane, he's hiding things with mind magic, ect. His circumstances would make anyone wary and clam up.

What really hit me was at the end of Wizard Heir when Lee and Seph are locked up together. Lee's speech was mind-boggling and might as well have been directed at the population at large for /everything/. It was a good speech. It made the concept that these two are so similar really pop out at you (if there was something to be missed in the first place).

But I was pretty happy to see at least /some/ Jack/Ellen appear in Wizard Heir. They are so sweet together. :3

Trilogies make me wary and so do long series. I always have this nagging suspicion the next book won't be /quite as good/ as the one before. I've been delighted to be proven wrong but disappointed enough to still be paranoid.
