“Happy Devil Day!” A security guard said this to me as I walked into the building this morning and a woman sshed him and said that she would say a prayer for him later. I looked over at him and simply had to laugh. Today is supposedly the day of Satan and everyone seems to be on edge. Andres said that one of his co-workers actually began to cry when another co-worker began talking about today. I realize that religion is a sensitive subject, but I honestly find this all a bit laughable. I’m not even sure if I believe in a “Satan”. I believe in evil manifesting itself in human beings, but to think there is a red creature with a long tail commanding all of the evil things in this world? But I guess the same argument could be used for “God, the big man in the sky” which is something I also don’t believe in. Not saying that I don’t believe in God, because I do believe in some form of higher power, just not the character that society has made God into. People are so afraid of the number 666 and it baffles me. If you believe and put that much power into a number, or anything else for that matter, then of course you’re going to be afraid. It’s the same with ghosts, monsters, or aliens. I honestly would not be surprised if something bad happened today and not because today is 6/6/6 but because of the simple fact that everyone is focusing so much negative and fearful energy into this day.
