SXSW 2008

Mar 18, 2008 10:40

I had an entire weekend planned out in Austin for SXSW, which included eating a disgusting amount of fatty brisket and creamed corn, sweater vests, seeing new bands, ribcage tattoos, and the Pottery Barn outlet.

Unfortunately, the weekend unexpectedly got cut short, but I did get to meet up with a prior country western dance partner from college, wander around 6th Street, and eat Best Wurst.

And we only saw one band, but it was N.E.R.D. at Stubb's, so you can't really complain.

They played a new song, which upon later research, I discovered is called “Everyone Nose.”

Chorus repeat:  "All the girls standing in the line for the bathroom"

It's the new "her ass is a spaceship I want to ride."

Also, we came early enough to catch Sia who played right befoe N.E.R.D.  Did you know she was part of Zero 7?  I didn't know that.  It was a pleasant surprise b/c she sang "Destiny," which is one of my favoritist songs ever.  Otherwise, I don't really have any opinion on Sia other than she sings "that song from Grey's Anatomy" (aka "Breathe Me").
