prom! (unfortunately im computer illiterate so itll take me a while to get pictures on here)
alright, so its been a whole week since prom, but this is the first chance i have gotten to come on and actually have time to write about it! (thanks to my ap us test friday, i have been studying during every waking moment of the past week). so let's see:
last friday was the mills prom (dan's school) which was at the farmington marriot. that was fun. liz came over after school to help me with my hair. although it was kind of more like liz watched me do my hair, but she did make suggestions. it was fun. but then my mom came home and said it was like, 4:30 already and i was supposed to leave the house by 5...so i rushed to do the makeup and get the stickon bra on and then actually get dressed and do jewelry and i pretty much did the fastest getting ready ever. anyway, then we went to dan's house. we did a few pictures at his house, but then we went to mike's because everybody was meeting at mike's for group pictures. it was the cutest thing when we got there. all the parents and grandparents and i don't even know who else was there, were all standing on the lawn as each couple kinda rotated around the sidewalk so everybody could get different views and stuff. and they made us do one picture sitting in the chairs on the porch holding hands. i felt like such a dork, but the picture actually came out kinda cute. and so then we did group shots, and then just the boys, then just the girls. so then we finally got to go to the prom!! unfortunately, brendan was the one leading (we had 4 cars going from mike's). brendan doesn't exactly have the best driving skills. i mean, he only screwed up a few times, but he almost took a couple wrong turns, he almost missed a few of the right turns, he did miss the turn into the actual hotel, and he kinda swerved out of his lane a few times which was a bit scary...but whatever. we got there safe. so the prom was fun. we hung out in this "mingling room" before the ballroom was actually opened because the hotel messed up the timing or something. i dont know what happened. it was fine. so then we went in, and we had dinner. it was really good. and we danced a lot, and the dessert wasnt really very good, but thats mostly just because it was vanilla. i mean, there was nothing wrong with it, i just prefer chocolate. and they kinged the prom king and queen who i obviously didnt know, but they were really cute, and the guy had a mohawk!! i just thought that was the greatest thing ever that the prom king had a mohawk. from what it sounds like, he is just a guy that happens to have a mohawk. he isnt like, one of those insane guys. he is just a guy. with a mohawk. anyway, it was cool. so after prom we went to amanda's house for icecream (which was so good). so the girls slept over amanda's and the boys went to craig's house. then the next morning, i had to go home so i could shower before my hair appointment which was at 1. so there was an extreme lack of sleep for that, but whatever.
so saturday was my school's prom which was at the amber room. so i had my hair done, and it looked amazing. i mean, i'm usually not conceited...but i really LOVED my hair! she did a french twist and kinda curled the top of it because you have to do something with what is left over from the twist. and amazingly, i am so short that when my grandmother hemmed my dress, she had to cut off an entire row of the appliques (im probably not spelling that right). so i got to use the extra appliques in my hair! so she put one long one into the crease thing of the french twist, and she put a bunch of little ones into the top with the curls and stuff. so then dan came to my house once i was all ready. and kelly came over because julia couldnt come home last weekend, so kelly decided to come as my replacement sister. and then jeff came in the limo to pick us up, and then we had to pick up alex, and we stopped at the curtis house (where jeff works) because they all wanted to see him dressed up. it was like, a 3 second stop. the rest of us stayed in the limo. so then we went to newtown to pick up liz and emily. and we went in to do pictures at liz's house because we were supposed to go to some park for pictures, but it was raining, so that kinda got ruined. so then we left liz's house and went to the prom! two nights in a row is not easy, let me tell ya!! i was so exhausted when it was over. but my prom was fun too. at first, we just walked around a lot because i wanted to see everyone and look at all the dresses and stuff. and our food was good. the dessert at my prom was totally better (because it was partially chocolate). i actually only ate the chocolate part. i left the other parts. so we danced a lot. and we talked to lots of people. and i think dan had a good time even tho he doesnt really know my friends all that well. but we left before it was over because liz and alex both had to get up early the next morning and they wanted to leave. it was ok tho because we were tired too. we were gonna go to rachel's for a little while, but we actually didnt get back to my house until 1 even tho we left the prom at like, 11:30. so we didnt go to rachels. although we did stay up until like, 4 just watching tv and stuff. o well. so dan slept in julia's room, and i slept in my room (which are nowhere near each other for all of you with minds that work that way...) and then me and dan hung out pretty much all day on sunday i our pajamas, until he realized that he really should go home because his mom was probably wondering why he hadnt called by like, 4 in the afternoon. so all in all, it was a really fun weekend.
unfortunately, this past week has been like "death by studying" week. so im not sure how alive i am right now. also, i had to get up at 5 this morning because i was supposed to do this community service thing this morning, but it got cancelled, so that was a wasteful lack of sleep. anyway, i should catch up on sleep.....
