Ever since I got back from America, it's been quite hectic... not just with the normal work, but now I'm doing voluntary work experience at a local travel agency. They've recently thrown me into the deep end, literally. They asked me to sell them Bali, and honestly when she said Ubud, it wasn't pronounced how I've heard it pronounced so I literally floundered... then I got a lesson on Bali - which I'm now learning about in my spare time, as it is quite the popular place to go for most travelers. Yep.
I reckon it didn't help that I got sick the night before and was sitting there, with a roll of toilet paper, trying to breathe... it was lovely though, and hoping to make a big difference when I pop back in on Thursday... fingers crossed... it's been quite the learning leap. One wouldn't think being a travel agent would be so difficult - but it really is... so respect your agent, there's a lot of work to be done for just one holiday... ;-)
Lets see other things that have happened - we had some of the hottest days on record in Australia, we had catastrophic fire danger in my area, and the area south of me. The first of the hot days was around 48'c, VERY windy and low humidity. We had a fire about 20-30 minutes South of where I live, that burned for about a month out of control after it broke through after day one - it was really freaky. I never have been in such a situation as that - so I was on edge most of the day... but after the 3rd day of over 45'c temperatures, I kinda got used to it - if that makes any kind of sense... we had to stay home and care for the animals the first time... but after the first time - and most of the heat had gone away for the day - we would go to the beach to cool down ourselves... there's was a lot of the beach this Summer, I can say that for sure.
A few days after I got home in mid-November, I moved Andrew's toy box into his room and sprained my back... which was interesting. It caused severe issues, and even now still hurts... but I'm more active so I'm not noticing it quite as much - which is a good thing.
In January, we had to go down to Eden (very South of New South Wales) and I decided for the first time, to pop down into Victoria... I hadn't been there previously - we went to Mallacoota for a little bit and then had to go back North to get more work done... but now I can say I've been to Victoria - kind of... haha.
None the less though, it's been a very dry Summer, and even into Autumn, it's quite dry... and quite warm. I think tonight is going to be a low of 17'c... not really that cool. I actually can't wait until we are in Winter, I'm ready to rug up in the blankets at night... I miss that... I suppose that's about it for now.. I've been really lacking on my friends list and everything - I've been logged into my other account mostly as it's my giant to-do list, but I'll be much better from now.
Keep your fingers crossed I don't mess up my opportunity to get my dream job... I need to learn to sell all of these destinations - which is a lot of work... but I'm going to plug away and do my best... write again soon!
