Wild World

Those who have spent any amount of time in my presence since Sunday know that the Nintendo DS Lite, and in particular Animal Crossing: Wild World, has completely taken over my life.  It's gotten so bad that the other day someone at work asked me how my day was going and I listed off my daily Animal Crossing activities.  The conversation went something like this:

CO-WORKER: Hi Anthony!  How's it going?

ME:  Great!  I dug up two fossils today that I donated to the museum, caught a couple of fish and someone came over to my town last night and brought me some non-native fruit to plant.  Hopefully my new apple and orange trees will start growing fruit soon so I can sell them at the local Nook 'n Go for 500 Bells a piece!

CO-WORKER: ...

*** I did manage to leave my apartment today to catch a Russian film called The First People on the Moon at SIFF with
patafamilias.  Essentially the film was a fictional documentary about a "top secret" Soviet space project to put a man on the moon in the 1930s.  It was an interesting movie that reminded me of the novel Omon Ra, which also satirized the USSR and the Russian Space Program.

And I acutally have a busy weekend plannned:  Tomorrow night,
forgoodorbad and I are going to the Aqueduct/Slender Means show at The Crocodile and Saturday I'm going to the Tacoma Dome to watch one of my former clients' high school graduation ceremony.  Sunday I hope to play Tennis.  In between, I will visit my Dad for Father's Day and hopefully hook up with my friend Ingrid.

See, I do have a life after all!
