I entered ljidol to write and to put words out into the world in anonymity. I created a new Lj name and shared splatterings of what I thought you wanted to see and hear. I shared the face of someone you may want to get to know.

Can't speak for the other Idolers, your friends, family, church or the Will of the Almighty (who tends, as I understand it, to be pretty chill when it comes to our small, human transgressions) but if you want forgiveness for being the only version of yourself you can be here on Idol? You got it.

I think sometimes people-- and churches-- forget that faith is an intensely personal thing. The depth of someone's faith isn't for others to know (how could they?), and that it doesn't strictly adhere to every construct from within or without seems like something that should be expected rather than villified.

In my real life, I spend a ton of time discussing issues of personal faith. I have been given a wide group of people from various faith backgrounds and beliefs and we manage to disagree vehemently and not take it personally. I am extremely lucky.
