I decided to come back here to LiveJournal after seeing my friend Clare has a blog. So much has happened in the past year. I am definitely happy to end 2008 and ring in 2009. After my first semester at Baruch, I decided the MPA program was not for me. That was disappointing. However, it was probably the best decision since nonprofits are doing terribly now with this economy. So, for a while, I was unsure of what my next step should be. By the end of the summer, I decided to apply to Long Island Univ. for a Masters in Library Science. Unfortunately, my application was a little delayed in getting there, so I was accepted but for the January 2009 semester. This past fall has been extremely difficult for me. My depression had started to worsen in the summer, and I had a particularly traumatic incident happen to me at the end of September. By the end of October I had to quit my part time job (at Hallmark), and I was admitted to the hospital for suicidal thoughts. Thankfully, I did not have to stay long and have since been recovering at home. I did not return to work (other than babysitting--I babysat for Hanukkah again last night), but I have been trying to stay busy in many ways. Anyway, I am very excited for Christmas and think I will appreciate it even more this year! For New Years, I am traveling to Philly to see my dear friend Clare!
I hope all of you have been doing better than I have....and Happy Holidays!
