No Power at The House of Dirge.
Now entering Day 2 of no electricity at the House of Dirge. You know what that means: no heat; no fridge; no lights; no tv, computer, etc... no sump pump either. Luckily, we do have a fireplace that is great; but it is in our lounge, which is the added on room on the back of the house.
Yesterday we spent hours in the lounge, playing Boggle and RISK (Star Wars Edition) by candlelight. Thankfully, we have a gas stove, so we were able to heat up some soup for dinner.
On the way home from work I'm going to pick up a pizza. They are claiming the power should be back by 4pm, but I am hella skeptical. Yesterday they promised by 3pm. Then 6pm. Then 11pm. Then 1am. Then 8am this morning. Now: 4pm. I'm not holding my breath.
I'm at work for the moment, taking a quick break. Came in early today and skipped a lunch so I think I will cut out an hour or two early; my poor husband is all alone in the cold big house... the least I can do is come home with a pizza and snuggle him real good. He is the best cuddler ever! He gives the best hugs too; just ask anyone he's ever hugged. He's a good egg, that Dirge o'mine. **swoons**
Hope all of you had a great holiday. I had a good one. It was Dirge and my SIXTH Christmas together. Time flies, indeed.
Looking forward to another New Year and setting some ambitious goals for myself for 2009. I really would like to get down to a size 9 or 10, but we will see. II've been stuck at 14 for over six months now, but at least I am maintaining, which is good. Really, I think a 10/12 would be pretty ideal for me and my 5'6" tall medium frame. My other goals for 2009 are home and future planning related. Will post more later...
