Weekends... and "Goodnight, Snow"

Jan 21, 2007 21:56

I think I'll just talk a little about my past 2 weekends so I can remember them. Last weekend was friggin awesome. My parents were out of town in NYC, so I took the opportunity to rule the house. I had Kristina over on Friday night to watch House of Flying Daggers, and then Peter Pan until the late night hours. It was awesome. Saturday night, I had a bunch of CP friends over and we played games and then watched movies late into the night. I love movies. And I love when my parents aren't home so that I can watch them late at night on the widescreen TV with surround sound turned up really really loud!!! So that was pretty sweet.

This weekend, I hung out with Kristina friday night. Saturday, I hung out with Michael and he introduced me to Linh Nam, which is probably the most fantastic Chinese restaurant that I have ever been too. So freaking delicious! Then he persuaded me to go to this resort gym/spa to which he has a membership and I actually lifted weights. But I didn't give a crap about the gym. I just wanted to get to the jacuzzi. So we did that after the gym. And gosh, that place was fancy and so beautiful and peaceful inside the spa. After that we went back to his house, but my mom was being mommish and wanted me to come home and vacuum. So begrudgingly, I went home a little after nine and finished the freaking vacuuming. But then, after my parents went to bed, I went back out to his house to watch movies. Yup. Good times. I love being able to drive.

Here is a poem in memory of tonight's snow:

GOODNIGHT, SNOW
By Sean

Goodnight, snow, goodnight-
Falling, falling, falling
Like little angels of white.
What secrets are the stars-
Veiled by your blanket grey-
Hiding from me tonight?
Will your remnants still lay
On the rocky, frozen ground
At the chilly break of day?
I pray, your secrets, to know
That I may understand
The passing of the seasons,
The melting of the snow;
And why it hurts my waking sight
To see the rays of the rising sun,
And why I feel alone
When dark becomes the night.
Goodnight, snow, goodnight.
Though never may I know
The secrets falling, soft and white
Goodnight, snow.
