Ok, probably only one or two of you on my flist will understand where the Subject line comes from, hehe, but I had to do it.
So I'm going into full-on Echelon mode this weekend.
ECHELON is a name used to describe a highly secretive world-wide intelligence/family of 30 Seconds to Mars fans.
Part of me is excited about it. Russty is picking this girl up from the airport that neither one of us know, lol, and she's coming to spend the night with us at my place, then we're driving down to Irvine early Saturday morning to do some street teaming/promotional stuff for the band at the
KROQ Weenie Roast, then there's apparently a bonfire that evening just for Echelon which I think Russty and I may attend.
The girl that we're picking up and escorting around is just someone from the main band board that someone asked Russty if she could help out, cos everyone in her party flaked out and she would be all alone in the big city without any transportation or any clue about where to go, etc. Russty called me last night to see if I minded if the girl came along with us and I said sure and to just have her spend the night at my place and then we can shuttle her down to the Weenie Roast.
We have to see if there's a hotel near the bonfire that is cheap enough for the 3 of us and if there is, Russty, Jen and I will stay for the bonfire. If not, we'll see if anyone else can take Jen over for the evening and then we'll hook up with everyone on Sunday at the
X-Fest show, which we are also doing some street teaming/promo work at.
So .. busy weekend, all in all. :))) I'm already tired, lol! But I think that's actually from last weekend, hehe. I've got to eat my Wheaties this week and just be ready. Surprisingly, this is actually going to be a rather inexpensive weekend, financially speaking. We bought the tix for X-Fest ages ago and we're not attending the Weenie Roast concert itself, so it's mainly just fun in the sun with friends.
And maybe a little gas money. ;P
My deal is that I don't want to be around a bunch of screaming fangirls, so I hope we can distance ourselves if that's the case. [I wish I'd discovered their music before they became so popular, lol]
Well, long and boring seem to be the order of the day today. It's good for getting caught up, I suppose. :)
