Sunny and only 53? That's like getting a beautiful looking chocolate cake that's covered in chocolate icing, biting into it and discovering it's diet chocolate ( Read more... )

I didn't know there was such a thing as diet chocolate. That sounds awful.

It's a little cold for a pool party, isn't it? What do you mean, the weather's waiting?

You are so very, very lucky. There shouldn't BE such a thing as diet chocolate. What has science done???

Ah, for all of the rest of Canada with outdoor pools, yes... yes it is. But you, my friend, are the lucky inhabitant of a unique town that sports it's very own Weather Bubble courtesy of yours truly. My backyard is currently a balmy 75 degrees that climbs to a perfect 85 degrees around noon. Perfect weather... for a pool party.

I'm Jane, btw. :)

Why would you eat chocolate if you're on a diet anyway?

Weather Bubble?? You've invented something that controls the weather? That's so nifty! If you have a pool party, sure, I'd love to come. Though I do tend to sunburn a little.

I'm Richie. Nice to meet you, Jane!

Some people have problems controlling cravings and the pseudo-scientists in the diet industry take advantage of it by creating expensive "diet" chocolate that doesn't satisfy anything.

I invented something that controls the weather in either a personal travel bubble or a larger, stationary bubble, so... yes! Yes I did invent something that controls the weather, but only in a very specific location. It really wouldn't do to control the weather on a larger scale. Bad things happen. You can trust me on that one.

No worries about sunburn! I've got a great sunblock you can try out as well. *heart*

Better sunny and 53 than rainy and 53, though!

Oh! Pool party sounds awesome! With your weather bubble and stuff?

With my weather bubble, Miss Sunshine! The pool has been lonely. It's saying, "Use me! I'm warm and fun!"

Or at least it would be saying that if I had given it a voice, which I didn't because swimming in something that talks is weird. Trust me.

Then you should totally plan a pool party!! If you need any help with the planning, I'm totally willing to help!

You know, I think that would be weird.

Helping with parties might be a good idea. I mean, I can do it for hamsters, but people need... more. Or at least bigger.

Plus, I really don't know a lot of people in town. :o

...There's a lot going on in this journal. Hamsters, diet chocolate, swimming pools... it sounds like you know that swimming in things that talk to you is weird... from experience.

But I just want to get this straight. You're going to set up a weather bubble that makes it feel like summer so that you can have a pool party in April. In Canada. And you have to make it bigger so that people, not hamsters, fit inside it.

Did I get everything?

Almost correct! The weather bubble is already in place and extends around my house and backyard and about... four stories high? So it's definitely big enough for people already. :) The hamster thing... well I... like... cute things.

Okay. But you still didn't really answer the 'swimming in things that talk to you' bit, did you? It's kind of... mysterious.

And it's four stories high? Where? Which direction? I haven't seen anything like that around here!

Perhaps if you had formed the question in the form of a question, I might have been able to answer it. As it is, well... yes, I know that swimming in things that talk to you is very weird which is why I try not to make my pools sentient. Or the water. Or even the waternoodles (though making them move on their own makes for very fun pool games.)

Perhaps a better way to answering your not-so-much-a-question question would be to introduce myself.

My name is Jane Davenport and I am a not-so-mad Mad Scientist. *g* I also seem to be stuck on hyphens. Sorry about that.

So who are you, person who owes nobody? (Ah, the hyphens wanted to come back but I showed restraint. ... I need a Praising Machine)
