Terry is the sweetest man alive! And now I will tell you why...
I came back from Beijing with a cold, which sucked. Everyone who knows me knows I hate being sick and most people can't handle me when I am. Terry called me to say welcome back and I was complaining about it to him. The next day he showed up with a bag full of fruit, a bag full of different kinds of bread, and his extra laptop, which he said I could use till I get a new one this summer because I need to be able to talk to my mom and to him online.
SWEETHEART! What a great guy! And that's not where it ends...
I wanted a bird to keep me company in my apartment. I asked Terry to go to the Flower and Pet market with me today to help me bargain for one. We planned on going at 9am. Fifteen till 9am he calls the phone in my room and says: "Erin, come open the door." He does this a lot. He thinks it's more fun to call me than to knock...then he usually jumps out at me from the corner. So I go and open the door and he's standing there in the hall. I say "Well come in!" And he just stands there with this crazy grin on his face. I asked him what he was waiting for and he grins more and says: "Look...look at this," and points around the corner of the hallway. So I walk around the corner and there, sitting on the tiles in his cage, is the exact bird that I wanted looking at me with a confused face. Terry had found out what bird I wanted the night before, though I didn't think anything of it at the time. Then he got up extra early and went to the pet market and bought it for me as a birthday present (my birthday is tomorrow...Sunday).
He is officially the sweetest man I've ever met in my life!
And as for my new child....he's a little blue parakeet and I do not have a name for him yet. At first I was thinking of giving a historical name (like Oliver Cromwell) or a literary name (like Tolstoy), but now I think it's only right that he has a Chinese name since this is his native(ish) country. Once I actually name him I will post it on here. Till then he's The Bird.
I'm going to go show off The Bird around the hall now. Bye!
