On Teaching & Hating
I really really HATE...no...ABHOR...no...LOATHE..yea...that's the word. Anyway, I LOATHE teaching high school. Today was the 1st day back and I'd honestly rather slit my wrists with a kuai zi than teach. Doesn't help that first class of my week is one of my least favorites. Thank goodness tomorrow is Tuesday and I teach my most favorite class in the p.m.
In other news, after visiting Beijing I am thinking of possibly studying Chinese at Peiking University (the best University in the country, we'll see if I could get in or not) in a few years. It sounds like I will be in China for quite a while so I might as well get deep in it. Language courses at Peiking would definitely do that for me. I just need to see if I have the time, money, and credentials to make it a reality. Probably I'd have to be a part time student, taking 1 or 2 classes a semester and working somewhere in the city in my spare time. I could live with that...I think. It'd depend on where I worked. Perhaps by then if I have a few years of teaching college under my belt they'd hire me to do some not-needing-an-MA type of job at the university that would let me have free tuition as well as a modest paycheck to live on. That would be sort of great. Oh well. It's something to research next year.
