Arrival in Scotland
After talking with Darius, Fitz, and everyone else at the wake, Duncan and Bella booked a flight out of New York.
Arriving back home in Glenfinnan would normally be a happy occasion for him, but it wasn't.
He'd managed to send the MacLeod Claymore ahead of him (security was so tight at airports these days). As he held it in his hands, he remembered how happy Aidan had been when Duncan had given it to him. He touched the blade carefully and was thankful that Bella was with him to make sure that he "didn't brood too much", in her own words.
He wondered if Face was holding a similar service for his brother, Wes, back in the States.
Duncan's birthday came and went as it did every year, but at least he would be surrounded by friends and family for Aidan's service. It didn't make things better, but at least it helped his own frame of mind.
