Their day on land had been wonderful. Oh, they had met several times while at sea, but because it was a day on land, it was different.
They had talked, and Calypso had revealed that he could leave his duty, and be mortal once again.
Davy had sighed. “How can I do that, and leave you?” he’d asked. “No, I’ll stay Captain. Better me, then someone who wouldn’t do the job.”
Now, he stood on the deck of the Flying Dutchman and smiled. He was Captain for as long as he wished. And Calypso had been there, waiting for him.
