Needless to say I am so excited for this concert. I'm going to wait in line, I'm going to stand feet from their faces. I will breathe the same air. And it will be amazinggg! I'm so excited!
Josh got us tickets for my birthday :D
Jessica and Libby are also going. Libby is really tall. No offense, hopefully she doesn't stand near me & in no way obscure/interfere with my view.

Also another reason for excitement: The week before that concert is my spring break. Jessica and I are going to visit Gill in Colorado. She lives in Denver! Hopefully it will be aweseomeeeee. I just hope me and Gill don't get annoyed w each other right away! Lol. We are always so bitchy. But what's to be expected from ourselves, eh? I am super excited. Much to catch up on. Gill is one of those friends that no matter what, we will always have each others backs. Even if we fight, don't see each other or talk for what seems an eternity, we are always there. I think we both know this. I love it. If I ever get married I bet Gill will be a bridesmaid. Jess too. And Maria. lol.

MSU actually has a snow day tomorrow! Which is funny considering what I found on their website, which states:

MSU has twice closed for snow days. The first time was on January 27, 1967, after a 24-inch snowfall. The second time came on April 3, 1975, after 12.8 inches of snow fell.

So so so awesome for me!!! Except I have a paper due online by ten am. I am taking three English classes, an ISB class, and a teaching class. This semester is okay. I am a bit overwhelmed by my English classes--loads of reading and writing. Most of all, I am intimidated by two of my professors (english). They are both so intelligent and carry themselves so well. The teacher of the class which my paper is due in has such a presence its frightening. Our class only has about twenty people. I feel like even though I 4-pointed English last semester, these two professors will not like me/my writing nearly as much.

I guess I'll find out soon enough! Papers due in both of those classes this week.
I ought to return to this dreaded essay.
I hate William Blake.

From npr:

I won't mince words: This is the best record Bright Eyes has ever made. In fact, it's the best record the band's frontman, Conor Oberst, has ever been a part of. Publicists like to say as much any time an artist releases a new album, but in this case, it's actually true. The People's Key is a career-defining work of art.

Diehard fans might find it hard to believe that Bright Eyes could produce anything better than 2005's simultaneously released I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning and Digital Ash in a Digital Urn. But in retrospect, those albums feel less developed than The People's Key. In earlier recordings such as Fevers and Mirrors and Lifted..., Oberst sounds like a wide-eyed kid who's still figuring things out. On the new record, he's older and wiser and more sure of himself. His voice is stronger, the sonic palette is richer and the poetry is more compelling.

The People's Key starts off as a largely experimental and conceptual record, opening with a strange but fascinating commentary on the expanding universe, time travel, UFOs and the origins of life. "[The aliens] walked like a man but had reptilian features. They had snake-like eyes, a tail and scales. They made slaves of the people. And where they landed in is what The Bible calls the Garden of Eden." The voice belongs to Denny Brewer, guitarist for the band Refried Icecream and a friend of Oberst's with some curious views of life on earth.

But this isn't an overly affected art-rock album that takes itself too seriously. And The People's Key is Bright Eyes' most infectious record to date, with captivating melodies and rhythms.

After devoting a few years to more conventional folk- and country-flavored songs, it's nice to see Oberst return to more adventurous songwriting. As Denny Brewer says on the record, "Syllables are frequencies," and The People's Key is full of the finest frequencies you'll likely hear this year.
