Updating once a week!

Mar 13, 2009 13:52

Or so I hope! I think I'm going to set Friday as my Internet clearing day and try and clear my e-mails and other stuff by Friday of that week or before. So I'll see how it goes by next week. :)

Before I continue, here's an excerpt from Crime and Punishment by Dostoyesvky.

"Oh, he has quite recovered his reason since morning," joined in Razoumikhin, whose familiarity Looshin apparently deeply resented.
"Your mamma," commenced Looshin.
"Hum!" Razoumikhin ejaculated. Looshin looked at him questioningly.

I had no idea Russian names were so odd! ;)

So, things are progressing as normal as it can be. There's not much to talk about in my life since it's pretty much the same since last week, so it's time for some photos again!

Lesse what I can find after wallowing in this bucket of photos...

New part of Sunway Pyramid! They built it while I was away in Australia. Nothing *really* impressive about the area except for the existence of a few terribly overpriced gashapons, but then again, they all are. XD It's more or less like every other shopping center, minus the shops from the West!

But this is what about the place that REALLY makes me laugh! XD It's so... odd!

I went with my friends to a board game cafe last Saturday and played this game called Battlelore. Sadly, it was rather disappointing.

NOTE: Camera really screwed up in this lighting so I had to use photoshop to fix the colours!

This game, on the other hand, which I picked out almost at random, turned out to be quite fun indeed!

This is the board for Kingsburg! It's not massive or anything, but it's quite a fun game. The objective of the game is to build up a city and the pictures of those dudes there are people that give you resources. I must admit, the art style makes you smile just looking at it. It was really easy to pick up and there's a decent amount of strategy behind playing it. :D

And this is what I ate there. Carbonara, but the sauce was very watery and not quite thick enough. Tasted fine though. But yeah, camera wasn't performing under the lighting and I had to photoshop it again.

This shot was taken the next day, outside a computer shop. I'm quite surprised that they shipped local retaliers some posters for this game! I guess it's becoming more of a trend in Malaysia to buy original games when you can, especially when developers are trying hard to implement all kinds of security into their programs to prevent piracy.

Gtg now! I'll continue this when I get back. (Why am I even writing this? It's not as if there's a time log or anything!)

A bunch of signs decorating the facade of a shopping complex. The local bookstore chain "Popluar" is now facing competition from its lesser known, but fast growing competitor, "Opular"

Taken at the same shopping complex (or the one adjacent to it) as the picture above it. If you're wondering, no, I didn't wait the 15 minutes just to find out how buggy the service is.

Now, this is a shot from around my neighbourhood. A friend who saw the sign at night thought that the name of the Clinic was "Clinic Open" since it was illuminated while the main signboard wasn't! XD But it really is a bit confusing combining Malay and English in that manner.

Here's a typical playground in Malaysia. I swear they all get their equipment from the same supplier. It all looks similar but in various colours, and some form of Tic-Tac-Toe will be attached to it.

This is a chain of optical shop that's quite commonly found in Malaysia.

And here's a chain of optical shop that's uncommonly found! Conveniently located in the same row as the previous shop, anyone needing a new pair of glasses has a tough time figuring out whether to go to Sydney or England to get them done.

I was actually heading to this shop in search of a car air freshener when I took the past few photos. NO not the BABYLAND!! SAVEMART the shop underneath it! It's a small supermarket. Sadly, they only sold house air fresheners, so I'll probably have to go to Giant.

This is what it looks like juuuust out side of Savemart, a fruit seller has set up shop there. Sights such as these are actually not too uncommon around Malaysia, I wonder even if he needs a permit to sell things there. XD

And the last photo! Sorry to say, I didn't save the best for last. This is another chain store, the 100 Yen Shop. Supposedly, everything in there costs 100 Yen, but Malaysians wouldn't know, since everything in there actually costs RM4.90. It's not a bad shop, except there's not that much you can buy that costs 100 Yen! XD

Hrm.. I swear I didn't notice the Hair Saloon sign above it until now...

Okay, so that's it for now! Thanks for reading this far! :D See you next week!
