Below are two e-mails I received within an hour and a half of each other this morning:
#1:
The twilight canoeing trip has been rescheduled. It turns out the Friday is the first day of goose hunting season. Therefore, it is probably not a good idea to be quietly mingling with waterfowl on the not-so-limpid waters of Woods Reservoir...
If you have signed up for Friday -- sorry, the trip is cancelled. BUT:
We'll leave tonight (Thursday) at 4:45pm from in front of the library. If you would like to come, please sign up on the new signup-sheet outside the SOP in the BC. I encourage folks to sign up for tonight -- it should be a great trip and we will not get caught in the cross-fire!
I apologize for this rescheduling. Next time we'll check hunting schedules ahead of time.
Yours, David Haskell 598 1918
#2:
Good morning
Given that we're experiencing a relatively light fog, as Sewanee fog goes,
it might be a good time to go over some precautionary measures that will
ensure that we all pass safely through the fog that is to come.
Pedestrians:
Given that you are pretty invisible in the fog, it is incumbent upon you to
try to make motorists aware of your presence. Flailing your arms and
setting off flares would work, but there are easier ways.
(It goes on from there, but that's the amusing part)
