A Much Needed Weekend

Yea for rejuvenating weekends! I SO needed it.

Brandon got home on Saturday afternoon from scout camp. I absolutely hate it when he's gone for so long! Especially when it's so far away. He was way up by Yellowstone in some beautiful country, but still. If we'd had extra cash Karissa and I would have gone up to Ashton to stay in a hotel and hang out with him during the day. hehe Ah well. At least it's done for another year.

Friday was a horrible day, for the most part. It's not that anything really "huge" happened, but it was just more than my stressed-to-the-max nerves could take. I could go into it, but it's probably best that I not. It all ended up working out okay in the end, but yeah. Just not a fun day.

The one good thing was that I got to go meet Mandee at the temple. Perhaps that's why all the other junk was happening. Even though I'd already gone on Tuesday it was just awesome to go again. Just what I needed. Karissa went to play at Allie's house and I got to go relax. It was a wonderful session, followed by wonderful conversation in the Celestial Room afterward. We stayed until everyone from our session left and most of the people in the next session had also gone. :^O Thanks again, Mandee!

Saturday morning we cleaned the house in anticipation of Brandon coming home. It was so nice to see him. In fact, Karissa woke up from her nap a little too early because she heard him. hehe We'd really missed him.

Then that night was the Birdie Cast Party! I'd been so excited for it ever since closing night. We got to go see Steph's cute house and the yard was just perfect for everyone to sit around and visit. Yummy food, good company. What more could you want?? Poor Brandon ended up sitting around by himself for part of it. He didn't know anyone (other than through me.) Karissa, on the other hand, found Ella right off and wouldn't leave her side until they left. :^) Then she was playing with Conrand's Ella and also Steph's Kenzie. We had a hard time getting her to leave. She really, really wanted to stay and play more. And she told us this the whole way to the car. :^)

Sunday was "just what the Dr. ordered." Man, I'm sure you could probably treat Sunday like any other day of the week and feel like you weren't missing out on anything (after a while, that is...) but there is just no comparison to keeping the Sabbath Day holy. We went to church and even though I had a hard time staying awake, it was very uplifting. I SO love those kids in primary! I feel so blessed to get to have them all instead of just one class!

Then it was a short (sort-of) choir practice after and home for some lunch. Yummy! After that, we all took a very nice nap. We were awakened to a very loud knock at the door though. Ah well. After dinner we cleaned up and then took a very nice walk around the block. Then it was time for singing lessons. Brandon decided to go even though he had to be up SUPER early this morning for work. I'm so glad he did. His being there just makes it that much more fun. I didn't do very well on my song though. I hadn't worked on it at all since I last sang it there and boy, could you ever tell. I really need to work on it this week.

After we got home (later than we'd planned, as usual) I was just SO much more ready to tackle the other not-so-fun stuff going on in our lives right now. I just hope that doesn't mean there is other stuff lurking out there that I'll need this better attitude for....

sabbath, stress, dh, temple, singing lessons, scout camp, birdie
