Allergies, etc....

Well, we now have no clue whatsoever what was bothering Karissa. It wasn't strawberries because a couple of times she broke out she hadn't had any. We finally had it down, or so we thought. Milk. Every time we gave her anything (and I mean ANYTHING) with the least amount of milk in it, she seemed to break out. Small spots for small amounts of milk.

We kept her off of it as best we could for Saturday and on Sunday we gave her a drink of it just before church. James (Karie's brother and a pediatrician) said he'd look at her. You guessed it...no spots whatsoever after a small glass of milk. *sigh* I'm relieved it wasn't milk because I had no idea how much stuff, let alone how much stuff we EAT, has some form of milk in it. I've decided we don't have a problem at all with our 3 servings of milk a day. hehe Nevertheless, the mystery remains. I have NO idea what the rash was. Maybe just something environmental like James thought it was in the first place.

Saturday night we had a picnic in our backyard. It was a blast! We set out a blanket and Brandon grilled hamburgers. We made some french fries, and a pasta salad and had some peas. It was a BEAUTIFUL night. Then we played a little on the swing set and then it was off to get ready for bed.

Sunday was a nice relaxing day too. We did get a call from Brandon's brother, David, while we were at church though. They wanted to get the fam together before they headed back home to Boston. They were here because Tanya's brother was getting married. The only catch was that they'd only be back to Bob and Kathy's around 7:45 and the girls would already be asleep. Ah well. We went down anyway, even though we only stayed for half an hour. It was nice to see them.

Pretty soon Karissa kept saying she wanted to go to Shanna's house (aka...singing lessons) so we left and headed up there. VERY small group, which I really enjoy. Of course, just before I'm "supposed" to sing, Art asks if we should enforce the "have your song memorized" thing again. We talked about it and came to the decision that, for the most part, a song should be memorized. Maybe the first time through is okay if you just want to try it out, but once it's something you're really going to work on, it needs to be memorized. My song, of course, isn't quite memorized yet (though almost) so I didn't want to sing after that. hehe I finally did by the end of the night though. I absolutely love having Brandon and Karissa come with me. I enjoy it anyway, but it's so much more fun to have them there.

I suppose that's enough rambling for one post! TTFN!
