so its been quite some time since i updated. heres some info.

since sean's been back from FL, i don't thing we've gone more than like 4 days without hanging out. he's definitely the same awesome guy he was when he left and now we're closer than ever. in actuallity, we've been having the conversations that me and fran used to have, about girls and friends and all kinds of aspects of life. i missed those kind of conversations, and while im having them with someone else, they still mean the same to me.

the band i'm "involved" in, the guest speaker, had its first show on the 22nd at showplace. it had a great turn out and was a lot of fun. i thought i would have been a bit more nervous about it but when the time came for us to come on, my mind was set on getting everything right that the goosebumps never came. even with all the mishaps, like the breaking of the guitar strings and the snare head (!), it went rather well. we wont be practicing for another two weeks or something until james is back from vacation but after that, watch out. we'll have more material and another show some time in february.

speaking of music, here's my top ten albums of the year. it's really tough to pick them because i definitely listened to some albums more than others and at some points i had a stack of 5 or so albums to listen to at once and it was a bit overwhelming. here it is though:

10. Explosions In The Sky - All Of A Sudden I Miss Everyone
9. Stars - In Our Bedroom After The War
8. The Shins - Wincing The Night Away
7. Arcade Fire - Neon Bible
6. Bloc Party - A Weekend In The City
5. LCD Soundsystem - Sound of Silver
4. Spoon - Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga
3. Motion City Soundtrack - Even If It Kills Me
2. Minus The Bear - Planet of Ice
1. Say Anything - In Defense of The Genre

Honorable Mentions: Radiohead - In Rainbows, Iron & Wine - The Shepherd's Dog

Yeah, i dont know if i completely agree with my list but overall thats what i enjoyed the most. i know for a fact that i couldnt take MCS's cd out of my car cd player for almost a month and the say anything album has so much material with so much to like, its tough not to put them at the top. as for radiohead, i really enjoyed the album and believe its one of the best theyve done but it didnt grab me enough to listen to in multiple times. and iron & wine, i know i'd love the album if i was in the mood to listen to it more but i just havent been in the mood. i gave it a few listens through all the way and while i enjoy how different it is, i just prefer to listen to other music for the time being.

in the land of ladies, things have been odd. the cindy incident turned me off to really trying again, as that was kind of my big step in doing so this year. some friends are kind of trying to set me up with people but it is always awkward when people do that, especially in the positions theyve recently put me in. i think i can confidently say that my priorities are not in the dating realm at the moment, though i'm keeping a keen eye on some chicas as there may be some promise. its really their move though.

i'm currently kind of looking for a job. ummm ive applied to about 4 or 5 different places and only one called me back. and i didnt even go to the interview because, after further thought, i really didnt want to do that job. luckily, ill be getting a check from UB in the next two weeks for a decent sum of money. itll probably come at the exact moment that i run out of money in my account. pretty much the only thing i can spend money on right now is gas. luckily christmas got me some gas cards to help with that. also luckily, there arent any shows coming up until the end of february.

and lastly, thankfully, ive been able to get a decent amount of sleep consistently for the first time in a while. a solid straight 8 or 9 hours a night has become a staple the last few nights. and coupled with the sleep has been some dreams which were interesting. the first one had a lot in it but it included a tower from the game Grim Fandango, a bathroom, and a baby that looked fully grown but was only the size of my palm. and i was washing it in a sink. the other dream had a lot to it but i particularly remember full sized babies walking and riding escalators in the walden galleria mall. in my research, the babies resemble either new beginnings or vulnerability. i'm going to go with new beginnnings though because i gave myself trot card readings a week or so ago and they had a new beginning theme to them as well. so we shall see.

for now thats all i can think of. ill be back when i have something else to talk about. happy new years.
