Motovational Speech Anyone?

I really need to start watching Sex and the City more often. It is inspires me. I also need to find more time. It has been way too long since I have written something besides English nonsense.

I was thinking tonight about the past, when I came to the present, and then to the future.

There have been many changes since last semester. I fought off the darkness of depression. I can feel myself growing up more and more every day. I thought I was bound to live in Never-Never Land my whole life, but apparently I am slowly flying out into the world beyond the second star to the right.

When you are in middle school all you want to do is be an adult. In high school, you gain more responsibility, but you are still a kid. Then you get to college, although you depend on your parents financially, you really are on your own. You come to college to get an education and to make connections, all so that you can succeed when you leave. Regardless of how secure you are with the training you receive or the connections you establish, the future will always be scary.

The future… It seems so far, but we encounter it every day, every minute… Every step we take could set us in a different direction. What is to become of your life after these years of college are over? What is to become of mine? It is so interesting how we see our lives going one way and then whoosh! life takes us in another direction.

My current life plan is something like this and I am only saying this because it will most likely be humorous for me to look back on in twenty years. I plan to finish school- build up my resume- move to New York- get a nanny job- audition everywhere- be successful- get married at twenty four- keep acting- have children at twenty eight- live the rest of my life acting, happily married with children. Somewhere in the mix I will fulfill many of my life goals and I will be on Saturday Night Live. And yes, I am dreaming big, but I think that you can only accomplish as far as you can dream. We can accomplish anything we want to as long as we keep our enthusiasm high and our work levels strong.

It is so easy to get discouraged in this business. There are days when I could not be any more scared. Occasionally, you will find a person who supports you. They see the talent you have and they let you know that you have it. Remember that if one person can see it, so can others. You just have to use their comments as encouragement, just so that you do not get lost in this world. Use those words to open your mind to see what is there to be learned.

There is so much to be brought out from the inside of our minds and our bodies; we just have to know how to do it. I have such a big passion for acting that all I want to do is to be trained. I want to learn and practice the skills I need to fulfill my dreams. I want to know what I need to learn from life, what to take in so that I can be successful like so many try to do. I want to be the one that succeeds.

Then that goes to the “want”. We all want things. It has to be so much more than a want though; it has to be a need. Want and need are just words though. These are all just words. It is not words that take us to what we want or need to do… It is the passion that fuels your heart, soul, and brain.
