as far as I know, Arslan didn't meet with Estelle before the saint emmanuel incident. And yet, they made her as pivotal figure in his development.
- thinking that slave system is flawed and they entitled to better life? why, because Estelle said so
- thinking that he should go became the King for the sake of pars's citizen (who left with Hirmes if he does not), why, because Estelle said so.
Why, perhaps this 'Arslan' will lead charge on Turan next or attempt to retrieving Ruknabard - because Ester said so, too
oh, and Andragoras banishing arslan and his friends goes against the king's order and following him instead - perhaps will also her doing.
Again, Estelle didn't even start appearing until Saint Emmanuel Fort's event. So WHY THE HELL DO YOU MADE MY ARSLAN BECAME HER PUPPET? WHY ARE YOU UNDERCUT HIS GROWTH, HIS NOBLE CHARACTER, HIS THINKING, HIS CHARISMA - AND MADE IT HANDED TO HIM ON A SILVER PLATTER BY A CHARACTER THAT SHOULDN'T BE EXIST UNTIL VERY MUCH LATER??
Arslan is a perceptive. He's aware of the strange phenomenon on Atropatene, able to pinpoint Narsus's interest and persuade the jaded strategist, enticed Gieve (whose even more jaded and have more idealized picture of royal ruler should be) - all by his own head.
------and you're trying to make him as empty-headed idiot that whacked with a girl with harisen, and voila! great leader born. Fcuk you.
ep 20 is so fucking bizarre that I don't even know what's going fucking on. Estelle the pars hater suddenly not hating the obviously noble boy that will go warring with her and probably kill her soldiers, you know she even wish him to done it and be still alive. No fucking need to have her zealotry shaked off (uh the part where their leaders basically using these zealot to their earthly desire) nor the part where these 'inferior heathen lots' showing more concern and humanism than themselves. Nah, just need one boy taking her to the exit on partially botched spying, and instant friend! it's like they inventing facebook and you only need to click the like button.
Fcuk you.
Ep 21 = is the same bizarreness, but even more because I fucking like Gieve (guy is like everybody's uncle). After reducing Arslan from noble character to weakling lad that had been pushed to development by nonexist girl, they tried to ramp his 'king-ly' aura by making him banish Gieve in a very sternly pose.
You know what's crossed my mind?
This. This level of wrongness. first of all, Gieve has been protecting him ever since they met. When it's all x hundred thousand lusitanians and all other sidequest (like fort kashan) vs Arslan? Gieve was there, and exactly because he was there, risking his life along with him (and courting Farangis occasionally) Arslan still alive today.
Second, everybody agrees that Gieve mercy-kill Shapur. Okay, that wasn't exactly something you want to boast for, but once people think him as savior and then we got people who goad Isfan to kill this upstart minstrel for doing so many useful things (like saving their king's life) while they're in the comfortness of their own home. You all should be ashamed, is my point.
Third, whatever and whomever started it first, Gieve doesn't deserve that smack, if any, it should be Isfan that need to be disciplined for being so emotionally unstable and attack fellow comrade. He lost family, yes. To Lusitania, and yet, he succumbing on fellow immature goading whose been jealous and venting on fellow comrades to whom his liege owed life to.
I expect better from you creature-called-Daryun and also from you, creature-called-Arslan. You want to look authoritative by handed punishment to rabble? Good. By punishing the innocent ones so you could gain approval from the jock side? That was idiotic. You looks like headmaster blaming the bully victim for 'not trying to be these jock's friends instead' or other crap like that. Gieve does much for you, and yet you casts him aside for these......lot.
In old ova, nobody punches Gieve in the face, he exits with grace, Gieve said essentially the same thing (he doesn't fit in the court), and Arslan strive to be better leader in the meanwhile. This may be a fucking cheese scene, but Arslan being a caring leader who let Gieve go in friendly manner vs Arslan who coldly humiliate Gieve in front of other soldier because he need their support more, I'll choose the cheesy, tearful old ova Arslan.
and then this cold bastard creature wearing Arslan mask suddenly gets hit by 'be nice' hammer and choose to save the stupid commanders because 'hey, we're friends. Friends do that for each other!' What the hell Gieve means to you, you phony?
so yes, new anime, you're still suck as hell.
you know, is this ok, to let this journal rampant with swearwords?
Arslan is our precious childhood memory, we're taking serious business to this offense
aren't you supposed to the morally supervising one?
no, am the cynical, take all with grain of salt - ones. It's an offense to use crude words to express that, but like we know, Arslan is special
still, there's rule for this kind of language
well, there's only couple of garbage they called as episodes left, brace yourself until then
to record = I don't have issues with Arakawa's estelle. Why? because her appearances enables us to see glimpse of Arslan's character (the first chapter is worldbuilding so it's nobody's fault; and second when she throws him the yaldaoboth book, it gives opportunity to see Arslan striving to understand other people, even his enemies - in latter scene). Arakawa didn't portray Arslan as somekind of empty canvass boy that being whacked to development by basically nonexistent girl is what I say.
