Yay, theater!

Man, this working steadily/having money thing is great. Not to mention the fact that I have a new friend that gets free theater tickets from her job.

I came up with my Broadway Must-See List of 2007.

The Scene, starring Tony Shalhoub (I'm including this even though I saw it a couple days before making my list because it was on my mental list before that)
The Fever, starring Wallace Shawn
Prelude to a Kiss, starring Alan Tudyk
Deuce, starring Angela Lansbury
Legally Blonde
A Chorus Line
Les Misérables
Company
The Drowsy Chaperone
Spring Awakening
The Little Mermaid
Young Frankenstein
The Producers if Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick come back

The B-squad:
The Apple Tree
Chicago, starring Bebe Neuwirth
Talk Radio, starring Liev Schreiber
Grey Gardens

And, of course, RENT is always on the list to see again.

Anyway, this was less than a month ago. I can now cross off:

The Scene
The Fever
The Apple Tree
Prelude to a Kiss

On Monday, I'm seeing Chicago and two weeks after that I'm seeing RENT. There are plans being made to see Spring Awakening and Drowsy. And RENT again. At this rate I'll have nothing left to see in the fall! Isn't it great??

Also this month, to go along with my theater kick, I did some researching and counting and found out that, not counting off-Broadway or tours, I have seen 28 shows 41 times in 22 out of 39 Broadway theaters. Considering my first Broadway show was less than three years ago...holy crap.

I also found this website, which lets you compile a list of all the cast recordings and musical film soundtracks you own, as well as the ones you want.

Behold: http://www.castalbums.org/users/151/collection/

Sigh. I love New York. I love student rush. I love friends who managed to hold onto their student IDs after graduation. I love working enough that I can actually pay for all these shows.

Yep, Clala's happy.
