Holy Moly
Wow, 23 is already starting to kick 22's ass. My birthday this year was solid.
The early afternoon was filled with lunch with friends and treating myself to shopping at the Gap and American Apparel. I never thought I'd be able to sport a polka dot hoodie, but I most definitely love my new one.
Stars... was awesome. I'd say more but the references to flashlights and emotions are far more introspective than I'd like to post. Let's just say they were everything I was hoping for. A cute girl buying me a birthday drink didn't hurt either.
And then the kicker. So I went to my parent's house to spend the day with them yesterday. I got my noise canceling headphones I asked for, which was great. And then of course my Mom had a gift that was positioned inside five larger boxes for comedic effect. Gotta love parents with a sense of humor. But inside it, was an iPhone. That's right, I now own a freaking iPhone. My Dad got it as a promotional prize from his company a month ago, but because they didn't want to pony up the extra money for the plan to make it completely free, my Dad decided to give it to me instead as a birthday present.
I know it's all just stuff and it shouldn't make me that happy, but sometimes a little consumerism and having nice things can really perk you up.
Man, if the rest of 23 goes anywhere near this well, it's going to be an amazing year.
