I want to write of many things. I want to write of power and privilege, of privilege and guilt. Of permanence and transience, and intersections of the two. Of race and color and skin and sexuality. Of women, men, children, and home. I want to write of gender based violence, nationalism and reproductive health…materialism and consumption and abstinence from things craved. Body shapes and body needs. Posture, presentation. Memory and the future. Those left behind with nostalgia and regret, those left behind willingly and gladly, the act of leaving. Bittersweet greetings in high pitched voices. Creation and community-pleasure and pain. Faith and spirituality…and the lack of either or both. Of promises and sacrifices and seeking. Of devotion, of love. Of belonging. Of allegory.
