so i'm applying to internships for the summer. i'm (apparently) looking for one in east or southern africa: kenya, tanzania, uganda, zambia, or malawi. i've been sending flurries of emails to the continent in hopes that someone will take me under their wing and show me what i need to know about preventing aids, or preventing gender-based violence, or improving the health status of refugees. this of course involves lots of nervousness, sending my resume, etc, as there are many people in my program alone competing for the same said internships.
i just got an answer from a teen health center in uganda. in response to my whole shpeel about my interests, etc, etc, i got, "it is ok. i just need to know when you intend to get here."
that's it.
i got the job(?).
