Started my job at WM which was really boring until the last half hour of my shift on Thursday. Before than all I did was watch videos on a computer and learned absolutly nothing on how to actually be a cashier. Then I got to shadow someone, who was super nice by the way, then she let me actually do something, first I bagged groceries (which there is a science to by the way). Then she let me check people out (which sounds really wrong but I don't know any other way to say it) and I totally screwed up every person. I mean there was something wrong with everyone that day. Checks are the worst. Credit Cards aren't much better. DVDs don't scan right. Produce you have to enter numbers for and sorry if I don't know the difference between parsley and cilantro through a plastic bag. People shouldn't let their kids start eating goldfish without first paying for them. If you and your friend are at the same cashier and talking to eachother etc. please put a divider (which the store provides for this sole reason) between your stuff so I don't start scanning your stuff and then have to void everything. Return your own stuff that you don't want to buy or just throw it on a shelf. It is so much easier for inventory to deal with than cashiers. We can't leave our tills and I honestly have no idea where the stuff goes. The store I work at is HUGE and I can't even tell you where to go to get such and such. I can call someone but you're going to need to wait.
This one guy with two kids goes too purchase a gun and bullets which freaked the heck out of me, but he was actually really nice so whatever. I learned that you only have to be over 16 to buy bullets which is scary considering some of the 16 year olds I know.

Marching Band started up! Woo-hoo! (yes I am a band geek). I really missed it during the off season. Except today a ton of old-people didn't show but a lot of new people joined so it was weird. And we didn't even march. I live for new people's first try at marching. It is so funny but then I realize I was like that once. i love not being new anymore. I really miss having Mr. W as my "real" band director instead of just for marching band. He is really good and its such a waste that the school district assigned him to junior high instead of high school.

I have a ton of homework still to do before Monday. I have to work 1-8 on Saturday and 1-4 on Sunday, and I have to play piano for a cherub choir Sunday morning so I really have to focus. I haven't learned the song for the cherub choir yet I barely even looked at so yeah i have to work on that too. And music for pit.

real life, marching band, work
