this past month has been:
crazy at times
relaxing
familiar
refreshing
etc...etc...
more or less, it has been a roller coaster of happenings and emotions.
Job: Just as I get use to watching the two babies full time, I find out that the situation isn't working out for the new family and they are going to make other arrangements. The plus side is that I don't have to work overtime after this week. The negative side is that i have to acquaint myself with a new baby and family.
Home: I was really looking forward to going home, and i was pretty homesick by December and hating Chicago. Home was fun and it was nice to see my family and some friends, but my visit wasn't all i wanted it to be. Of course eating vegan treats, fake chinese food and med. deli falafel was fulfilling but home just wasn't as i left it. Since then, I have been able to appreciate Chicago much more and the weather here has been much more pleasant than it was in December. Chicago is feeling more and more like home every day, plus moxie and roxy are here. Home is where the kitties are.
Florida: Was a fun time. It was nice to spend time with Capri and see Mikey W. The warm mineral springs were just as i remember them. Warm, but smelly. I wish i could have stayed longer. Oh, and the wind was insaneeeeeee. Capri and I watched the sunset on Venice Beach. We wore bath robes and hid under a blanket from the wind, sand and sea foam. I'll prob. post pictures when i'm at home.
Planes: I've come to realize that they are a necessary evil. In the past month I had one canceled plane(we had to sleep in a comped hotel room in philly and buy too much shitty hotel and airport food, three delayed flights, and only one that was on time. This weekend I'm flying back to PA for my sister's sweet 16, so i hope that I have better luck.
2006 is looking promising.
